The entrance floor of the building was constructed with "Seal Hard FGS." Seal Hard enhances the entrance, the "face" of the building, with a striking floor finish.

In the fall of 2020, we applied the Seal Hard FGS6 to a building in Harajuku, Tokyo, which was renovated. Seal Hard comes in many specifications, and this project used the FGS6 specification for the flooring. Every building entrance is filled with the owner's unique preferences. The entrance, which serves as the "face" of the building, may feature a sign, a lobby, or even sculptures. Seal Hard has the ability to showcase the owner's attention to detail. This time, it was a shared office for creators and an apparel shop. The concept was "New Modern," presenting a more advanced and cutting-edge theme. The client had high expectations for the flooring. From the planning stage, we created multiple samples to align the image, exploring the degree of gloss and the atmosphere of the sign reflecting on the floor. Once on-site, we reproduced the samples as closely as possible while maintaining the client's vision during the installation. The panels in the entrance reflected onto the floor, resulting in a modern finish. Utilizing the texture of concrete, Seal Hard FGS is easy to operate and manage. Seal Hard is a colorless, odorless, and environmentally friendly concrete surface hardener that is non-polluting. It is a colorless, transparent liquid primarily composed of sodium silicate, which penetrates the surface of the concrete after application. Through a chemical reaction with the concrete components, it generates a glass-like substance on the surface. This chemical reaction continues over time with regular water washing for moisture replenishment. Concrete strengthened by Seal Hard becomes more beautiful and glossy with use and regular water washing, without becoming slippery even when glossy. Seal Hard FGS is widely adopted in commercial facilities and public property floors. In addition to this beauty salon, there are numerous achievements in public and private properties, including boutiques, supermarket sales areas, and home centers. [Before Construction] Starting from a floor that is slightly higher in moisture due to the end of wet curing. After discussing with the site supervisor, we removed the protective coverings on days when there was no delivery and when the site was closed, allowing the concrete to breathe.
【Before Construction - Airlock】 The airlock in front of the entrance. Except for the central part, it has the same specifications as the entrance. The narrow areas cannot accommodate large polishing machines, so they will be polished by hand.
【Protective Measures】 Seal hard construction often takes place towards the end of the construction period, when walls and other elements are frequently finished. Therefore, it is common to focus on protective measures during the first hour. Protective measures were implemented not only around the walls but also around the elevator area.
【Polishing Scene】 We started from the entrance area. The craftsmen carefully check the unevenness of the floor, the trowel marks, and the strength. Then, they select the diamond blade. This initial process of choosing the diamond blade is the most important. If the choice of this blade is wrong, the finish will be significantly affected. This varies with each site, and we select carefully to create a "good floor."
【Polishing and Edges】 We will also carry out polishing of the edges in parallel. The rotation speed and weight differ significantly between large polishing machines and grinders. Customers expect the same level of finish in the details as well. The craftsmanship supports the overall sense of unity.
【Seal Hard Application】 During the polishing process, Seal Hard is applied. Of course, it is applied until the penetration limit is reached. The mop is run vertically and horizontally to ensure even and careful penetration.
[Residue Removal and Water Washing] We will remove the residue of Seal Hard. At this time, water washing is the most effective. It will also remove fine concrete dust here. The completion is finally near.
【Completion Photos】 These photos were taken shortly after washing. Due to thorough sanding and polishing processes, a sheen appears right after delivery. Immediately after construction, the moisture content is relatively high, resulting in a slightly wet appearance. It will gradually blend in, and the texture of the concrete will become more pronounced.
