■Balancing budget and needs The E60 is an entry-level model from Origin Acoustics that comes in a set of six units. When multiple ceiling-mounted speakers are needed on-site, and there is a request from the customer for ceiling-mounted speakers but the budget is tight, we hope you will consider this option. Since it comes in a set of six, it can be used for three rooms' ceiling installations or freely configured for a single room with a 5-channel ceiling setup. If there is a possibility of yield, please also consider the higher-end Producer Collection. ■Design considering future upgrades The ceiling cutout (required hole diameter) is 203mm or 222mm. This is aligned with the cutouts of Origin Acoustics' Producer Collection (203mm) and Director Collection (222mm), meaning that when upgrading to a higher model in the future, there will be no need to modify the ceiling holes.

It can be finished with a clean impression as if it has been recessed. ■About the Product Sold as a set of E60×6 units under the model E60-6. By passing a CD pipe through the wall to the location where the amplifier will be placed in the ceiling, customers can easily connect the speaker cables to the speaker terminals. Passive speakers are known for their robustness, with virtually no failures, and do not require after-sales maintenance. However, when the client connects the amplifier themselves, there can be issues where pulling the cables too hard causes them to disconnect or break in the ceiling. As a countermeasure, if speaker terminals (e.g., PANASONIC Cosmos SERIES) are installed like wall outlets to prevent pulling, it would be foolproof.

The E60 is a 2-way speaker with a 6.5-inch (165mm) woofer and a 1-inch (25mm) tweeter. It comes with a white bezel-less magnetic grill, which allows only the white mesh part to be visible when installed in the ceiling. The grill diameter is 254mm.

The installation on the ceiling adopts the SPRING LOADED DOG EAR method. By turning the screws located in the four recesses on the front of the speaker, the legs on the back of the speaker rotate and tighten against the ceiling's gypsum board.

The E60 is a very unique model with a step on the back of the speaker, and the cutout (the round hole in the ceiling) accommodates both 203mm and 222mm. This means that when customers want to upgrade to higher or top-tier models from ORIGIN ACOUSTICS, there is no need to re-drill the hole. If there is a possibility of upgrading to the Producer Collection in the future, we recommend creating a ceiling opening for 203mm, and if there is a possibility of upgrading to the Director Collection, we recommend creating a ceiling opening for 222mm.
