This is a ceiling-mounted speaker model from ORIGIN ACOUSTICS that emphasizes a slim finish. It performs exceptionally well when there is limited clearance behind the gypsum board. Currently, the lineup has been expanded to include two lines: one with an integrated backcan and one without. The integrated backcan model is particularly ideal for installation in existing buildings. When constructing new buildings, if a backcan is to be included for soundproofing and protection of the unit, it needs to be installed before the board is applied. Since this model has an integrated backcan, there is no need to remove the board for that purpose. It can be completed in one step with just a round hole of the outer diameter of the unit. This backcan reduces sound transmission to adjacent rooms by up to 9 dB, making it a suitable choice if sound transmission to the room above is a concern.
