The "bicycle-friendly gutter" is an optimal slit gutter for bicycle path development in accordance with the "Guidelines for Creating a Safe and Comfortable Bicycle Use Environment" presented by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. The exposed width of the gutter is extremely narrow at 90mm, allowing for a wider paved area. Bicycles can travel on the asphalt pavement, making it safer compared to typical L-shaped street gutters (with an exposed width of 500mm and a cross slope of 6%). Additionally, like our "urban-type gutter," it can continuously collect water through the slits, eliminating the need for expensive grating. In terms of management, the gutter's cross-section is oval, which increases the flow velocity during low flow conditions, preventing sediment accumulation and reducing cleaning costs.
