Heat Shielding Furnace: Examples of Heat Mitigation and Energy Saving Improvements

Case study of heat countermeasures and energy saving achieved in a painting drying furnace (fueled by city gas): Surface radiation temperature decreased by 100°C!

We will introduce improvements in heat mitigation measures for painting drying ovens and energy-saving examples. "There was a challenge of having hot indoor conditions in summer and wanting to implement heat mitigation measures while also saving on fuel." In response, high-temperature heat-insulating sheets were applied to the painting drying oven. (The installation was carried out by the customer.) As a result, the surface radiation temperature of the oven was reduced from 130°C to 30°C, achieving a decrease of 100°C. By reducing radiative heat loss from the oven surface, energy savings on fuel were also achieved. Furthermore, the internal temperature of the oven increased by 20°C during winter, leading to improved productivity!
