The registered receiver, equipped with latitude and longitude information, receives earthquake occurrence information sent by the Japan Meteorological Agency, calculates the expected seismic intensity and the time until it reaches the installation location, and notifies users via voice. It has a proven track record in apartment complexes, general facilities, factories, and logistics centers. The emergency earthquake alert system detects seismic waves (P-waves) using seismometers near the epicenter to quickly estimate the location and magnitude of the earthquake, predict the intensity of shaking in various areas, and forecast the arrival time of strong shaking (S-waves) before they reach. The emergency earthquake alerts issued by the Japan Meteorological Agency are predicted based on regional units that divide the country into about 200 areas, announcing the expected seismic intensity and arrival time for regions where a seismic intensity of 4 or higher is anticipated. For advanced users, emergency earthquake alerts are also issued when an earthquake of magnitude 3.5 or higher or a maximum seismic intensity of 3 is predicted, even if observed by a single seismometer. When observed by a single seismometer, there is a risk of issuing an emergency earthquake alert due to noise. If no detection occurs at other observation points after some time, the previously issued emergency earthquake alert is deemed a false alarm, and a cancellation report is automatically issued. To avoid false alarms caused by noise, it is necessary to use emergency earthquake alerts observed at two or more points. In areas close to the epicenter, there may not be enough time to react to the shaking. Depending on the magnitude of the earthquake, strong shaking may not be predicted early on, leading to delayed alerts or situations where no alert is issued at all due to an inability to predict the shaking.
