To capture the near-infrared spectrum with high sensitivity, special infrared cameras are required, but they are very expensive and difficult to implement in production facilities. The CIS CoaXPress camera series offers products equipped with near-infrared sensitive sensors, ranging from low to high resolution. By adopting ON Semiconductor's CMOS sensors, these cameras provide approximately 1.7 times the sensitivity at a wavelength of 900 nm and about twice the sensitivity at wavelengths of 1,000 to 1,050 nm compared to sensors that do not support near-infrared. ~~~Examples of applications using near-infrared~~~ Food inspection... Can inspect damaged areas of vegetables and fruits. Packaging inspection... Can inspect for foreign matter contamination and content entrapment without opening the package. Semiconductor inspection... Can detect defects such as cracks that are not visible to the naked eye. Appearance inspection... By using near-infrared wavelengths, stable inspections can be performed without being affected by ambient light. Agriculture... Can visualize growth conditions by utilizing reflections from plants and determine harvest timing. Biological and medical... Near-infrared light has good tissue penetration, allowing for imaging of internal structures such as blood vessels.
