It is powered by the included power adapter and transmits Ethernet and power to an EPoT transmitter (TX) up to 1,200 meters away using CAT5e or higher UTP/STP cables (LAN cables). It extends the transmission distance, which is typically limited to 100 meters for standard Ethernet, to 1,200 meters (CAT5e or higher) without the need for repeaters or other devices in between. Since repeaters are not required, it can be used in overhead wiring or underground installations.
