Detailed information

The INTERTEC MULTIBOX is a GRP (Glass Reinforced Polyester) two-part enclosure with a rectangular design, available for both portrait and landscape orientation. More than 11 standard sizes are available — from MULTIBOX 20 to MULTIBOX 250 — allowing selection of the optimum size for the type and quantity of instrumentation to be housed. Special sizes, forms, and applications are available on request.
-

The MULTIBOX offers a wide range of locking options, including four-point latches (SVKK/SVLL) and two-hinge/two-clasp (SE type) variants. A comprehensive range of accessories is available: mounting plates and rails, flange plates, 2-inch pipe stands and brackets, 19-inch hinged frames, ISO passes, and lid support stays — covering virtually any installation requirement. Low surface resistance to EN 50014 and Ex-p explosion-proof versions (PTB-No Ex-84/1118X) are also available for use in hazardous areas.
-

A wide range of accessories is available for the MULTIBOX: windows in acrylic or safety glass, aluminium-framed windows, stainless steel hinges, various latch types, stacking adapters for multi-unit configurations, and ISOPASS cable entry systems. ISOPASS allows cables to pass through the enclosure wall in a sealed arrangement, simplifying wiring while maintaining IP65 or higher protection. Stacking adapters enable multiple MULTIBOX units to be mounted one above the other.
-

Installation accessories for the MULTIBOX include 2-inch pipe stands and pipe adapters for direct mounting to instrument pipes. The labyrinth vent (breather) equalises pressure between inside and outside the enclosure while maintaining dust and water protection, reducing the risk of condensation. The siphon drain allows any water ingress to escape to the outside. Flange plates simplify the installation of instruments at enclosure openings. The combination of these accessories supports long-term reliable operation in harsh outdoor environments.
-

The MULTIBOX uses a "tongue and groove" sealing arrangement, in which a moulded ridge (tongue) mates with a corresponding channel (groove) to apply uniform pressure across the full perimeter of the gasket, ensuring a reliable seal. The gasket material is EPDM (ethylene propylene diene rubber), which offers excellent resistance to weathering, UV radiation, and chemicals. This construction achieves up to IP68 (30 minutes at 1 m depth) dust and water protection, making the MULTIBOX suitable for instrument protection in locations with a risk of water ingress or in marine environments.
-

A key feature of the MULTIBOX mounting concept is the reinforced recess moulded into the GRP enclosure wall. This allows bolt-and-nut external mounting while preventing bolt heads from protruding into the interior, maximising the usable space for installed equipment. Combined with stainless steel hardware (standard: hot-dip galvanised steel; option: SUS316 stainless), the arrangement maintains long-term mechanical strength even in corrosive environments.
-

The photograph shows multiple MULTIBOX units installed on an outdoor pipe rack in a snowy environment. Unlike metal, GRP has low thermal conductivity, minimising thermal impact on installed instrumentation even at low temperatures. GRP is also immune to corrosion and rust, making it highly resistant to salt attack and freeze-thaw cycles in cold climates, enabling long-term maintenance-free operation. The MULTIBOX is widely used to house flow meters, pressure transmitters, and temperature instruments on outdoor pipe racks at oil, gas, and petrochemical plants.
-

The left photograph shows a MULTIBOX mounted directly on a 2-inch pipe stand for field instrumentation protection in a harsh outdoor environment. The right photograph shows a sampling system application, with an inline analyser, pressure regulator, and valves installed inside the MULTIBOX; the transparent window allows visual inspection of the internal equipment without opening the door. The MULTIBOX is widely used for sample conditioning and analyser protection at oil, gas, and chemical plants.

The left photograph shows a sample conditioning system (comprising filters, regulators, valves, and flow meters) installed inside a MULTIBOX, as displayed at an industry exhibition. The right photograph shows a MULTIBOX with a sample pressure regulator and flow meter installed on-site. Thanks to GRP's corrosion resistance and high sealing performance (up to IP68), the MULTIBOX provides long-term protection of instrumentation in process environments containing corrosive gases or moisture. The product has been adopted at oil refineries, petrochemical plants, LNG facilities, and natural gas processing plants.

Protecting internal equipment from environments such as cold, heat, corrosion, and chemical areas. Founded in Germany in 1965, our company has a history of 50 years and has achieved an annual growth of 15%. The reason for this growth lies in our unique GRP material. As experts in GRP material, we manufacture enclosures, cabinets, and shelters, while simultaneously providing heating and cooling systems installed inside. We are a German manufacturer that offers diverse solutions to protect delicate field equipment in chemical plants, petrochemical plants, and other industries worldwide. We protect internal measurement, control, and analysis equipment from environments such as freezing, excessive heat, corrosion, and condensation. All of our products are made from GRP (glass-reinforced polyester) material, which has a very low thermal conductivity, allowing us to maximize the efficiency of cooling and heating systems. 【ISO Certification】 ISO 9001 ISO 14001
