[Safe and secure neutral disinfectant (surfactant) developed with cosmetic ingredients] "Glycine" is a component found in natural scallops and shrimp, and is commonly used in shampoos and lotions. A major domestic cosmetic ingredient manufacturer has successfully developed glycine with excellent penetration and disinfecting power through its unique technology. It possesses outstanding penetration and disinfection capabilities, making it effective for cleaning dirt, disinfecting, and preventing mold. Due to its high disinfecting effect, glycine is also used as a disinfectant for surgical instruments and as an infection prevention agent. [About the novel coronavirus] According to experts, even without alcohol disinfectants, the "surfactants" found in "soap" or "household neutral detergents" can be effective. The "novel coronavirus" is very similar to the "SARS virus" and both share a common "envelope," which is a "lipid membrane." Alcohol destroys this "envelope," eliminating the virus's infectivity, but the National Institute of Infectious Diseases has announced that the same effect has been confirmed for the "SARS virus" using "surfactants." Although this has not yet been confirmed through experiments for the current "novel coronavirus," similar effects are expected. (Refer to NHK Asahi's website)
