Composite processing technology to improve the adhesion of PVD.
【Composite Processing Technology】 While CVD involves "bonding" through chemical reactions, PVD is characterized by "deposition" through collision energy, which generally results in poorer adhesion. To improve the adhesion of PVD, it is effective to reduce the difference in hardness between the substrate surface and the coating film. Particularly, as the hardness of PVD increases, this difference has been expanding. Therefore, our company has adopted the following technologies for substrate reinforcement. 【Overview】 ■ Improved surface roughness and increased surface hardness for high adhesion, and enhancement of internal residual compressive stress ■ WPC + PVD: Paid option ■ Nitriding + PVD: Paid option ■ Lapping before and after coating treatment: Paid option only before coating.

basic information
■WPC + PVD (Paid Option) By colliding with shot blasting against special surfaces equivalent to or better than molds made of high-speed steel or ceramics, the hardness from the surface layer of the base material to a depth of about 10μm is improved by approximately 1.5 times. By reducing the difference in hardness between the coating and the base material, it is possible to enhance adhesion, and since only the surface is hardened, the toughness characteristics of the base material are maintained. In WPC treatment, depressions are formed on the surface due to shot blasting, resulting in a loss of gloss. Our company restores the original glossy surface through wrapping before performing PVD treatment. ■Nitriding + PVD (Paid Option) This technology hardens the surface layer of the mold to a depth of about 30μm, with the nitrided layer being hardest at the surface and gradually returning to the hardness of the base material as the depth increases. Our company is capable of achieving extremely good nitriding that minimizes the occurrence of a compound layer at the surface, known as the white layer, which adversely affects adhesion with the coating. ■Wrapping (Paid Option) The better the surface roughness of the base material, the better the adhesion of the coating. Our company provides wrapping methods that match the shape in-house.
