In order to meet the increasing demand for low-cost and space-saving solutions for contaminated soil treatment, we have developed a mobile heavy metal contaminated soil purification system composed of a classification and washing machine equipped with a bubbling mechanism for extracting arsenic from contaminated soil and adsorbing the extracted arsenic onto iron powder, as well as a compact wet magnetic separator that efficiently recovers and circulates the iron powder adsorbed with arsenic, achieving low cost and space efficiency.

■Flow of Purification Treatment Using a crash fire equipped with a bubbling mechanism, the process classifies coarse components that are not contaminated with heavy metals and fine components that contain heavy metals. It also includes a step where iron powder is added to a tank, and bubbling is used for stirring and mixing to adsorb heavy metals onto the iron powder. The mixed water containing iron powder and fine components that overflows from the tank is then separated and recovered using a wet magnetic separator equipped with cylindrical magnets. This combination results in a compact heavy metal contaminated soil purification treatment system that reduces equipment costs and running costs, unlike conventional systems. *Compared to similar systems equipped with centrifugal separation devices. ■Example of System Installation The two main pieces of equipment necessary for the purification treatment of contaminated soil can be easily moved and installed on-site. Despite its rational and minimal configuration, it is capable of removing contaminants to levels below the standards set by the Soil Contamination Countermeasures Act.
