Introducing a case study of the manufacturing and installation of wood grain design panels on the interior walls of the Mitsukoshi Isetan Shinjuku store! This also significantly contributed to reducing the construction period compared to on-site work!
Using the "Cedar Board Floating Grain Design Panel Method," which was our first attempt, we applied a concrete-colored wood grain design to the walls of the Mitsukoshi Isetan Shinjuku store, completed in December 2019. [Customer Requests] - We would like the cedar board wood grain to be designed in a concrete color. - We hope for a deeper and clearer carving of the cedar board floating grain. - We want to eliminate seams to avoid patchy wood grain. - Please finish it in a way that prevents our customers' clothing from getting dirty with mortar or snagging. - We would like you to accommodate us despite the limited construction time and difficulty of on-site work. Using our unique technique (patented product), we sculpted the cedar board floating grain in mortar, carefully transferring a seamless cedar board wood grain, mixing colors uniquely, and applying color and wood grain drawing by hand, resulting in panel products. On-site, we ensured that the panels could be fixed with screws. After installation, we performed local repairs and finishing to complete the project. *This contributed to shortening the construction period. Normally, on-site painting requires a curing period, which takes time.
