Basotect is a soft foam made from melamine resin. Thanks to the properties of melamine resin and its dense cell structure, it possesses characteristics that were not achievable with conventional foams and has excellent flame retardancy. Features: 1. Lightweight: Extremely lightweight with a density of 6-9 kg/m3. 2. Flame retardant: UL94 V-0, HF-1 compliant; passes the A-A style 40mm flame retardant test for railway vehicle materials; FMVSS302 compliant. 3. Thermal insulation and sound absorption: Possesses thermal insulation and sound absorption properties due to its fine cell structure. 4. Heat resistance: Maximum temperature of 240°C, safe operating temperature of 150°C. 5. Water absorption: Excellent water absorption due to its fine cell structure. There is also a water-repellent grade available. It is widely known as melamine sponge, commonly used as a cleaning sponge.
