Rubber sponge is made by blending a foaming agent with rubber, and the gas generated by the thermal decomposition of the foaming agent creates a porous structure in the rubber. The individual chambers that are independent from each other are referred to as closed cells (independent bubbles). Closed cells have extremely low water absorption, excellent shock absorption, workability, and buoyancy, making them suitable for a wide range of applications.
