Typically, sponge products made from extruded materials using a linear hot air vulcanization device always form a skin layer on the surface during molding with high-temperature hot air. "Skinless sponge" is a revolutionary product that overturns this basic concept. Despite lacking a skin layer, its unique foaming structure results in low water absorption, effective thermal insulation, soundproofing, and excellent shock absorption. Additionally, because conventional sponge products have a skin layer, drilling holes with tools like drills can cause the material to wrap around, requiring pre-punching before drilling. However, since there is no skin layer, it can be processed directly with drills, allowing for cost reduction in processing. The material can be EPDM, with a hardness of approximately 40° (JIS E).
