In February 2019, the Enforcement Order of the Labor Safety and Health Act was revised, changing the name of the safety belt that has been used for many years in high-altitude work to "fall arrest equipment." Both the "full harness type (single hook)" and the "body belt type (single hook)" are recognized as fall arrest equipment. The U-shaped body belt that was included in the conventional safety belt is now classified as a work positioning device. However, if the height of the working surface is 6.75 meters or lower and there is a risk of reaching the ground in the event of a fall, the use of the body belt type is also permitted.
