Structural analysis using 1H-NMR! Introducing a case study on the component analysis of surfactants!
Our company is engaged in the analysis solution business. This document presents the analysis results of a case study conducted to investigate whether the main components of other companies' products are the same as the ingredients listed in the SDS. Based on the SDS information, the main component is hexadecyltrimethylammonium chloride (molecular weight 283). Proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (hereinafter abbreviated as H-NMR) and mass spectrometry were performed, revealing the presence of by-products. Through pre-treatment, the main and by-products were fractionated, and their compositions were clarified through structural analysis using 1H-NMR.
