We will introduce a case study where the automotive vehicle motion simulation tool "CarSim" was used to optimize ABS control parameters. The ground contact conditions are a very important factor, and the friction coefficient (μ) between the tire and the road surface has many uncertainties due to road conditions. Therefore, it is desirable to select parameters that are as robust as possible against the μ value in response to the requirement of reducing braking distance. Additionally, it is important to ensure straight-line stability during sudden braking on uneven μ roads, which necessitates optimization that considers the need to minimize both braking distance and lateral deviation. By using the multi-objective robust optimization function of "modeFRONTIER," we were able to explore ABS control parameters that excel in straight-line stability and braking performance.
