Once the oil has been solidified by the Oil Gator, it will not re-dissolve even if it comes into contact with rain or water. The absorbed oil decomposes into water and carbon dioxide within 4 to 6 months, and the material itself biodegrades and returns to the soil within 6 to 10 months. (The Oil Gator contains microorganisms that thrive on oil, using it as food. It also includes nutrients necessary for the growth of these microorganisms.) Once the oil has been solidified by the Oil Gator, there is no need for recovery. However, in certain cases, such as on national highways, recovery may be necessary depending on the location of the spill. Originating from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (AARC), if spilled on agricultural land or soil, the activation of microorganisms can actually contribute to soil restoration and increase crop yields. It is also effective in removing oil films and odors.

basic information
1. Oil Gator contains natural cellulose (100% natural) along with dozens of types of bacteria and bacterial nutrients, has high oleophilicity, and excellent oil absorption capacity. 2. The bacteria contained in Oil Gator primarily absorb and decompose mineral oils and animal and vegetable oils. It can be used to absorb and fix oil and floating oil that has leaked onto surfaces (both paved and unpaved) and structural floors. 3. It has excellent retention capacity, and the absorbed oil is fixed within the fibers, preventing re-extraction. 4. It also absorbs volatile oils such as gasoline and suppresses volatilization, helping to prevent explosion accidents. It is also effective against volatile organic compounds (VOCs). 5. After absorbing oil, it can be incinerated. The burden on the incinerator is minimal, and the residuals after incineration are extremely small. 6. When disposed of in a landfill, the absorbed oil is decomposed into water and carbon dioxide by bacterial action within 4 to 6 months. The adsorbent itself also biodegrades in about 6 to 10 months. 7. It can also be applied to improve soil contaminated with oil.

Applications/Examples of results
When sprayed on oil that has leaked onto land such as roads, maintenance factories, and fields, it instantly solidifies the oil. It can also be used for oil that has surfaced in rivers and irrigation channels in emergency situations, and while it is very effective at adsorbing floating oil and oil films, it sinks in water. (For flowing oil, please install the floating oil adsorbents (CellSorb), CellFence, and adsorbent mats described in A.)
