Lauan has individual color variations, but it is a material with good dyeing properties, making it recommended for coloring. Dyeing it in brown tones can especially create a craft-like feel. Cedar, which has a light and bright color, is often used for custom furniture. While it can certainly be colored, it is recommended to enjoy its natural expression with clear oil. MDF, which is rare as a door finishing material, is often used for storage boxes and is my personal favorite for its rustic warmth. It absorbs water easily, so a water-based matte urethane finish is recommended.
