Consideration of the results of the norovirus countermeasure test.

Using the sterilizing air towel "New Super M," a 99.99% reduction in 10 seconds.

New Super M (CS-1500) Sterilizing Air Towel, a combined hot air and hand sterilization device, conducted tests using only the UV-C lamp due to the circumstances of the testing organization, among its two sterilization functions (135°C hot air and UV-C lamp). As a substitute virus for norovirus, which cannot be cultured in cells, we used feline calicivirus, recommended by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), from the same family of vesivirus. As a result, the infectious titer (number of viral particles) decreased by 99.9602% with 5 seconds of exposure and by 99.9998% with 10 seconds of exposure. In addition, the effectiveness is maximized by simultaneous exposure to the other sterilization function of high-temperature 135°C hot air. For norovirus prevention, it is important to thoroughly remove bacteria that lurk deep within the unique pores and wrinkles of the hands.
