It achieves a high FPC retention force with a locking mechanism in the notch of the FPC and inside the connector. Despite its height of 0.9 mm, it supports FPCs with a thickness of 0.2 mm. The top and bottom contact structure allows it to be used in a wide range of products.

Before FPC mating The locking mechanism of the connector and the notch in the FPC achieve high FPC retention force. MINIFLEX 3-BFN-LK (Long Actuator type) is designed to be gentle on empty mating. Empty mating refers to the state where the actuator is tilted without setting the FPC. In general back-lock type FPC connectors, performing empty mating can deform the contacts, which may significantly affect the insertion and mating of the FPC.

After FPC mating, the unique actuator shape concentrates the necessary force at the center during the locking process, assisting in secure locking (mating operation).
