This is an example of a system that monitors and prevents collapses during tunnel construction. In tunnel excavation, it is necessary to continuously monitor information such as temperature, humidity, rock surface stress, and moisture content in unstable areas to ensure safer construction, quickly detect abnormalities, and take measures before accidents occur. In conventional methods, it was necessary to move sensors and other equipment every time the excavation site changed, which limited the effectiveness of monitoring for ensuring safety in relation to costs. This system uses a wireless network module (WSN) based on Zigbee to centrally manage and monitor strain data from various distributed locations over an extended period.
