It is a glass that meets the JIS standard "Borosilicate Glass-1," known for its excellent chemical durability and heat resistance. It does not contain any heavy metals such as lead, zinc, or cadmium, nor does it use sulfurous acid or antimony, which are commonly used as foaming agents in regular glass. Due to its small expansion coefficient, it has minimal expansion and contraction from heating and rapid cooling, making it a glass material with high heat resistance that can withstand a temperature shock of 120 degrees.

This was made possible by the successful development of Japan's first direct electric melting furnace for glass, a unique technology that melts glass raw materials using electricity instead of heavy oil.
