Shimizu Precision Technology Co., Ltd., which manufactures hydraulic equipment such as hydraulic pumps, hydraulic motors, and hydraulic valves, has introduced 'AirGRID' to visualize the operating status of processing equipment and lines. The product has been installed on all 82 processing machines equipped with Patlite indicator lights, obtaining equipment operation information wirelessly (compliant with IEEE802.15.4 ZigBee). The entire factory is covered by six wireless receivers. By aggregating operating rates and utilization rates, it is used for reliability evaluation of equipment, analysis for improving production capacity, and change point management. As there have been positive results in improving production capacity and managing change points, the introduction to the assembly and performance testing lines is also being considered.
