Real-time transmission and analysis of biometric information such as ECG and body surface temperature, as well as activity levels during exercise.
AffordSense Inc. has developed a wireless biometric sensor in the form of a bandage called "Vitalgram" that provides a comfortable fit without any sensation of wearing it. It can acquire biometric information such as ECG and body surface temperature, activity levels during exercise, changes in altitude due to posture or climbing stairs, and environmental information such as temperature and humidity. The data is sent in real-time to external devices like smartphones and mobile terminals for analysis. AffordSense Inc. is a university-based venture established in November 2013 to bring the research results of the "Research and Development of Band-Aid Type Biosensors" project, initiated by Professor Kazuhira Maenaka of the Graduate School of Engineering at Hyogo Prefectural University, to society through the Strategic Creative Research Promotion Program (ERATO). We aim not only to commercialize research results but also to further challenge human sensing, advancing research and development to contribute in areas such as health management, early detection and prevention of diseases, and hazard prediction for the human body.
