Since April 2022, the application for the "Subsidy for Promoting Work Style Reform" for the fiscal year 2022 has begun. This subsidy provides financial assistance to small and medium-sized enterprises that are working on creating an environment aimed at reducing working hours and promoting annual paid leave, covering part of the costs incurred for their implementation. This year, in addition to the "Annual Leave Promotion Support Course" and the "Work Interval Introduction Course," a new "Proper Management of Working Hours Promotion Course" has been established. This subsidy also applies to POSCO products and has a track record of acceptance. It is a subsidy that we receive inquiries about every year.

How is everyone doing amidst the ongoing uncertainty of COVID-19? Living with masks has become the norm, and I personally feel that new lifestyles, such as avoiding the "three Cs" (closed spaces, crowded places, and close-contact settings), are becoming more ingrained. Currently, I also realize that online meetings (WEB meetings) have become quite mainstream during this pandemic. At POSCO, we had been conducting online demonstrations for customers nationwide even before the pandemic, but I believe that since the onset of COVID-19, the barriers to online demos have significantly lowered.

This fiscal year, the application for the IT introduction subsidy has started from April. Continuing from the previous year, POSCO's products and systems are eligible tools for the IT introduction subsidy 2022, and applications are now possible. The scope of eligibility has changed from the previous year, making it easier to apply, so we would like to inform you of the changes and the requirements for application as follows. ● Changes from the last time ✔ The POS cash register system for the medical industry, "RecePOS (R)," and the POS cash register system for the retail industry, "Urekko," will be classified as "Digitalization Foundation Introduction Type" this fiscal year. ⇒ Last year, the type of application varied depending on the type of register, but this year, regardless of the type of register, all applications will fall under the "Digitalization Foundation Introduction Type." ✔ Not only software but also hardware has become eligible. ⇒ Last year, only software was eligible, but starting this year, cash register equipment such as automatic change dispensers will also be eligible for subsidies. Since hardware has been added to the eligibility alongside software, the subsidy amount has changed from the previous year.

In March 2022, the "Uji Studies" supplementary textbook (revised edition) published by the Uji City Board of Education in Kyoto introduces the semi-self-service POS register as a product that continues to evolve through daily demonstration experiments in fields such as healthcare and distribution. A product photo of Posco's semi-self-service register has been featured again as a "register that is further spreading." Other evolving products such as smart speakers and dog-shaped robots are also introduced. Moving forward, Posco will continue to contribute to the development of a diverse and rich society through cooperation in new technology development, including product development and research, as well as educational activities.
