Smart air conditioning control system for data centers
Smart DASH NTT Facilities
A solution that achieves optimal air conditioning environments and energy savings through automatic measurement and control using learning functions.
By linking the indoor wireless temperature sensor module with the air conditioning unit, the target air conditioning unit is selected and automatically controlled according to the fluctuations in the measurement values of each sensor. This optimal control achieves a reduction in air conditioning power consumption of up to 30%.

basic information
Automatic control of the air conditioning environment in response to the expansion of servers and other equipment in the ICT rack. By executing the cycle of measurement, analysis/learning, and automatic control as a whole, we achieve optimal operation from environmental understanding to improvement actions. Visualization tools such as "Temperature Distribution Display," which shows the location and range of cold spots and hot spots, and "Impact Analysis Display," which analyzes and displays the cooling influence range of each air conditioning unit, can be utilized. We monitor and analyze measurement data such as the temperature distribution of the ICT rack's intake, deriving the optimal cooling method to maintain the server intake temperature within the set temperature range. *Smart DASH is a registered trademark of Vigilent Corporation. Applications/Examples of results
NTT Facilities' Smart DASH is a solution that achieves optimal air conditioning environments and energy savings through automated design and control using learning functions. It automatically selects and controls the target air conditioning units based on fluctuations in sensor measurements. By utilizing Smart DASH for continuous operational improvements—such as airflow enhancement measures like blank panel PlenaFill and aisle capping—it can reduce air conditioning power consumption by up to 40%. This initiative balances the conflicting challenges of protecting the global environment and reducing power consumption while enhancing the quality and functionality of communication infrastructure in a cost-effective manner, thereby establishing a sustainable communication infrastructure. This effort won the Grand Prize at the "Green Grid Data Center Awards 2012." We are implementing measures for major telecommunications carriers, financial institutions, data center operators, and others.

Company information
TileFlow Japan Co., Ltd. was established in April 2011 as part of Innovative Research, Inc.'s Asia-Pacific strategy and has been preparing its organizational structure. It officially began full-scale operations on April 1, 2012 (with TileFlow technical support services implemented earlier). We aim to visualize energy-saving and thermal management technologies through TileFlow, expanding from current management systems for energy management, environmental management, asset management, cable connection management, and power management to future facility planning. By using TileFlow as a core technology and focusing on the iFacility Data Center, we will advance technical support for energy-saving and thermal management in data centers through integrated facilities technology (software + hardware), striving to establish and promote a next-generation integrated system for energy-saving and thermal management in data centers.
