New Crack Measurement System [Construction Measurement]
New crack measurement system for bridges and bridge piers.
It is possible to measure the width, position, and length of cracks with high precision from a distance. This is a groundbreaking measurement system that breaks conventional wisdom.
Concrete structures such as bridges, tunnels, and building exteriors require a significant amount of cost and time for crack inspections. With "KUMONOS," cracks can be measured from a distance, eliminating the need for scaffolding or aerial work platforms during exterior inspections, allowing for safe assessments. It is a groundbreaking measurement system that breaks the conventional wisdom of crack inspections. "KUMONOS" has won the 11th National Land Technology Development Award and received the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award for Scientific and Technological Achievement (Development Category). Applications/Examples of results
Since the development of KUMONOS, we have over 1,000 measurement achievements both domestically and internationally. We conduct crack measurement operations for all types of concrete structures, including buildings, bridges, tunnels, and dams, quickly, safely, and accurately from remote locations, and present the results as deliverable drawings to our clients. If you have any inquiries or questions regarding measurement operations, please feel free to contact us.
Detailed information
-
Office building Field work: 6 personnel Quantity: 2,300 square meters In the measurement services for buildings, we can also deliver in 3D drawings according to your requests. The position and shape of cracks will be easier to understand.
-
Hotel Field work: 65 personnel Quantity: 20,000 square meters (height 83m) Since there is no need to set up scaffolding, it will not interfere with the privacy of the hotel. Additionally, by establishing common reference points in the surrounding area, multiple workers can simultaneously conduct measurements from different locations, allowing the data to be instantly visualized as a single set.
-
Warehouse Field work: 9 personnel Quantity: 2,800 square meters This is a crack measurement operation for a building where access is strictly restricted. Since there is no need to set up scaffolding, the risk of trespassing and other issues can be reduced.
-
Educational facility Field work: 14 personnel Quantity: 4,000 square meters Measurements can be taken quietly from a distance, so they do not disrupt classes at educational facilities such as schools. Additionally, due to aging, measurements of deterioration conditions other than cracking, such as peeling and exposed rebar, were also conducted.
Company information
Our company was founded in 1995 with the aim of supporting the recovery from the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. The company name is derived from our unique measuring device, "KUMONOS," which can quickly and accurately measure 0.2mm cracks from a distance of 100 meters. In 1998, we were the first in Japan to introduce a 3D laser scanner, and since then, we have developed a 3D measurement business and equipment introduction business to promote 3D laser scanning technology. Over the past 25 years, we have accumulated over 2,500 measurement achievements and approximately 300 equipment introductions, establishing ourselves as a leading company in 3D laser scanning in Japan. Our technology has received numerous ministerial awards from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, including the Japan Manufacturing Award. Additionally, our technology was introduced to world leaders at the G20 Osaka Summit, receiving high praise both domestically and internationally. Moving forward, we will continue to implement the latest technologies backed by our high technical capabilities and provide DX solutions across various fields.
