Lightweight glass foam material is a porous lightweight foamed material made from recycled waste glass, used in lightweight embankment construction. In the civil engineering and construction fields, it leverages its lightweight properties to reduce settlement in embankments and road level corrections on soft ground, alleviate wall pressure behind retaining walls, and lessen loads on underground structures. It can also be utilized as a mixed lightweight soil using excavated soil generated on-site. There are numerous delivery records, primarily for public works by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and various prefectural and municipal governments, as well as highways and private projects. Since lightweight glass foam material is made from waste glass bottles, it does not leach harmful substances, complies with soil environmental standards, and contributes to a recycling-oriented society. Lightweight glass foam material is an eco-mark product (17 131 006). - Features ○ The civil engineering type is a gravel-like porous body ranging from 2 to 75 mm. ○ Easy construction with compaction using standard heavy machinery. ○ Excellent drainage even during compaction. ○ Lightweight and easy to handle, with no preparation curing period, allowing for shortened construction time. ○ High flexibility at the construction site, making it possible to work even with distorted terrain or buried pipes.
