The first in the domestic industry: Emergency LED lighting fixtures that can be used in explosion-proof areas Launch of explosion-proof emergency LED lighting fixtures (VZAA series) We have launched the first explosion-proof emergency LED lighting fixtures in the domestic industry that can be installed in explosion-proof areas where there is a risk of explosion or fire due to flammable gases or combustible liquids. Currently, emergency lighting fixtures defined by the Building Standards Act are limited to "incandescent lamps" and "fluorescent lamps," and the use of LEDs as emergency light sources has not been permitted. Therefore, while there have been LED emergency lighting fixtures that received certification based on the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's certification system and passed the self-assessment of emergency lighting fixtures by the Japan Lighting Manufacturers Association, they could not be used in explosion-proof areas where there is a risk of explosion or fire. In response to the many requests for the use of LED as an emergency light source even in explosion-proof areas, we have developed explosion-proof emergency LED lighting fixtures that have passed type testing by the Japan Industrial Safety and Health Association, received certification from the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and display the JIL mark from the Japan Lighting Manufacturers Association, making us the first in the domestic industry to do so. Orders will begin on September 15, 2016. Since the JIL mark is affixed to the product, building confirmation procedures can continue to be carried out smoothly as before.

basic information
<Features> 1. Achieving all-LED lighting in explosion-proof areas Until now, LED fixtures that could be used in explosion-proof areas were limited to general lighting, and emergency lighting had to use different light sources such as incandescent or fluorescent lamps. With the long-lasting explosion-proof emergency LED fixtures, the need to separately stock replacement lamps for emergency lighting has almost disappeared, making maintenance management easier. 2. Possible reduction in the number of installed lights compared to conventional emergency incandescent lamps The brightness during emergency lighting is approximately four times that of conventional explosion-proof emergency incandescent fixtures (considering maintenance factor), allowing for a maximum reduction of installed lights by half while ensuring the necessary brightness of 2 lx during evacuation. 3. Charging status can be checked with a lamp monitor Equipped with an environmentally friendly nickel-hydrogen battery. When surrounding lighting fixtures are in regular operation, the lamp monitor (green) of the emergency lighting fixture lights up, indicating a normal charging status. This design provides peace of mind at a glance. 4. Easy battery replacement while the fixture is installed The lifespan of the built-in rechargeable battery is 4 to 6 years. During replacement, the battery compartment can be opened, and by removing the connector and screws, the battery can be easily replaced in a short time.

Company information
Hoshia Electric has established itself as a top manufacturer in various fields, including information display systems such as road information boards, industrial lighting known for its waterproof and explosion-proof features under the name "Water Pearl," tunnel lighting that began with the full-scale installation in the Kanmon Tunnel, and resin products represented by "Cutting Duct." As a new business, we started an electromagnetic noise countermeasure (EMC) product business in 1997 to address electromagnetic noise issues arising from digital devices. In the LED business, we successfully developed a blue light-emitting diode in April 2002 and a white light-emitting diode in December of the same year. Based on these technologies, we are actively expanding our business in the field of LED lighting fixtures, ranging from roads and tunnels to industrial lighting. On March 9, 2018, Hoshia Electric Co., Ltd. was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange First Section. In April 2022, we transitioned to the Tokyo Stock Exchange Standard Market.
