When the cap set on the nut reaches the appropriate torque, the inner claws break, and the cap spins freely to indicate that the installation is complete. A capped state indicates that installation is not yet complete. The work is finished when the cap is removed and the nut is exposed. This prevents not only forgetting to tighten or insufficient tightening but also seizing due to over-tightening. It is possible to tighten with the appropriate torque using only an impact wrench, without the need for a torque wrench or special tightening machinery.

There are various types of locking nuts in the world. All locking nuts exhibit their locking function when tightened to the appropriate torque value. However, if the operator forgets to tighten them, the locking function will not be activated. Conversely, over-tightening can lead to issues such as seizing. To prevent human error in advance, KFC has developed a nut that combines unprecedented resin products with steel products to add torque management functionality. A polycarbonate cap is set with the locking nut. When the specified torque is reached, the contact point between the inside of the cap and the nut breaks, causing the cap to spin freely and detach, thus completing the installation at the appropriate torque value. The Torq-Nut "K" is set with our locking K nut. The Torq-Nut "ZK" is set with our locking K nut with a washer.
