The "plate heat exchanger" is a direct counterflow type heat exchanger designed for heat recovery, utilizing a gas-to-gas system that does not contain dust. The plate heat exchanger consists of two metal plates that are pressed into a wavy shape and welded together to form a pair, which can be combined in multiple pairs to increase the heat transfer area. The gas on the heating side and the gas on the cooling side are structured to prevent mixing through welding, and the wavy shape of the heat transfer plates takes thermal expansion differences into account.
