This is a silver discoloration preventive agent (sulfur-based rust inhibitor) designed to protect the surfaces of electrical and electronic components, as well as jewelry and utensils that are processed with silver and silver plating, from various harmful environments. The environments affecting silver and silver-plated surfaces are diverse, but particularly when exposed to atmospheres containing sulfur gas, sulfides are generated on the silver surface, resulting in a black discoloration of the silver surface, an increase in electrical resistance in electronic components, and a decrease in conductivity. The silver discoloration preventive agent AC20 forms a strong film on the silver surface, protecting it from sulfide and oxidation. Additionally, the protective film has good solderability and low electrical contact resistance. Being water-based and neutral, it is also easy to treat wastewater. AC-20 provides the highest discoloration prevention effect against sulfur gas among the AC series.
