It is strong but relatively easy to work with and does not warp easily. It can produce large-diameter and long-length materials. It contains a lot of resin, so caution is needed when painting. Its decay resistance is moderate. Uses: Utilized for structural materials such as columns and beams, custom materials, fittings, furniture materials, plywood, utility poles, and shipbuilding. In the United States, Bay Pine plywood is famous. Caution: Although it is called Bay Pine in Japan, it is not in the same genus as true pines and is classified under the genus Chamaecyparis.
