Rebuilding and extending the lifespan of the pump through thermal spraying!
The interior of the pump casing has been worn due to years of erosion (fluid abrasion), so we have received a request to repair it while extending its lifespan. Issues: 1. Purchasing a new one is expensive. The drive unit, including the impeller, can be used without any problems. 2. The equipment can only be stopped for about a week. 3. Complete restoration of the shape is not necessary, but we would like to rebuild the worn areas as much as possible.

basic information
We proposed the restoration of the casing interior through hard alloy thermal spraying. Film thickness: approximately 300μ. While restoring the worn areas, surface treatment will be applied to prevent further erosion in the future. An investigation of the wear condition will be conducted at the timing of pre-disassembly maintenance. Points: 1. High hardness (approximately HV1200) and strong resistance to erosion achieved through thermal spraying of hard alloy. 2. By creating masking jigs and adjusting processes in advance, we achieve a short delivery time. 3. The thermal spraying method selected is the high-velocity oxygen-fuel (HVOF) method, which particularly realizes high density, high adhesion, and high hardness. 4. By masking unnecessary areas, we aim to reduce total costs (effective when using expensive thermal spray materials). *Hard alloy refers to an alloy primarily composed of tungsten carbide, known for its excellent wear resistance. It is widely used in cutting tools and other applications.
