We received an inquiry from a lime manufacturing company regarding their desire to reduce the replacement work caused by wear in the transport piping for powders and slurries. 1. The elbows and bends are particularly worn, leading to leaks, and due to the large quantity, frequent patching and other repairs or replacements are necessary, which takes up a lot of time. 2. Even after repairs, they must be replaced within about a year. 3. Frequent stoppages for repairs and replacements lead to a decrease in production volume.

I proposed a method to bond relatively inexpensive alumina ceramic chips inside the piping. 1. There was a possibility of foreign matter contamination and early wear due to chip detachment and falling off, which was unacceptable. 2. There are various sizes of piping in use, and this method was not feasible for small-diameter pipes. Due to these two issues, I gave up on the idea. * I have newly proposed a ceramic double pipe with an integrated structure of a ceramic inner pipe, intermediate material, and outer pipe, although the price will be higher.
