◆Indoor Measures for Sulfur Odor We received a consultation regarding the sulfur odor emitted from inspection machines for mechanical parts, which has filled the indoor space and led to complaints from various areas on the same floor. The source of the odor has been identified, and since the airflow for treatment was low, we proposed an adsorption method using activated carbon and conducted a preliminary demonstration test. We enclosed the inspection machine with a tent to prevent the dispersion of the odor, and we used a fan to draw the odor inside the tent, checking whether the odor could be reduced using the activated carbon adsorption method. We determined the treatment airflow and designed the equipment accordingly. We installed the activated carbon deodorization device, Deokeeper (for sulfur odors). The inspection machine was enclosed with a vinyl tent, and the internal odor was drawn through an aluminum flexible duct by a fan within the device. The drawn odor passes through the activated carbon layer for treatment. It is equipped with casters at the bottom, making installation and movement easy. According to the odor concentration measurement results, an odor concentration of 3,200 was measured at the inlet side of the deodorization device, while the outlet side showed an odor concentration of less than 10, achieving a deodorization effect of 99.7%. The sensory response at the outlet side indicates an almost odorless level, allowing the exhaust to be released directly into the indoor space.
