The water-soluble gold discoloration preventive agent AU-20 is a water-soluble discoloration preventive agent developed to protect various gold-plated electronic components from corrosive gases. As electronic components become smaller and more densely integrated, there is an increasing demand for enhanced reliability in performance. In particular, gold plating is applied to contact areas where reliability is critical. Gold is chemically stable, has low electrical resistance, and exhibits excellent corrosion resistance even in corrosive environments; however, to consider economic factors, the gold plating is currently kept thin. As a result, pinholes can easily form, allowing corrosive gases to penetrate, leading to corrosion and a decline in performance. **Features** - Excellent corrosion resistance with minimal increase in contact resistance → Passes environmental tests such as heat resistance, salt spray resistance, resistance to sulfur dioxide gas, and resistance to hydrogen sulfide gas, with a small increase in contact resistance after testing. → In particular, AU-20 reacts not only with copper alloys but also with nickel surfaces, providing protection from corrosive environments. - Does not affect solderability. - Has appropriate lubricity.
