The virtual machine version can be used on virtual machines running operating systems other than Windows. For example, you can start Windows on a virtual machine of a MAC OS computer and use CODESOFT. There are three types: Enterprise, Runtime, and Win, and the protection key is only a software key. Additionally, a Windows-compatible printer is required for printing.

New Edition CODESOFT for laboratories is primarily suitable for label output from compact printers. It supports 1D barcodes and 2D codes similar to the enterprise version. RFID is not supported. Additionally, it does not include object lock/unlock, port watch, SQL mode features, form viewer, or form designer functions.

The GS1-QR code supports over 100 types of barcodes. It can generate and print more than 100 types of barcodes, including ISBT128, MicroQRCode, and custom barcodes for postal codes (in Japan and other countries), both one-dimensional and two-dimensional. Additionally, nine new application identifiers (AIs) have been added to the GS1 wizard.
