A stainless steel wire rope is secured to the retainer for installation, and the wire rope is wound in a spiral (helical) shape. This structure allows the wire rope to deform significantly in three axial directions, serving the role of a spring. Additionally, during deformation, the individual wires of the wire rope rub against each other, resulting in a phenomenon known as hysteresis, where the reaction force differs during the extension and contraction of the helical vibration damper due to this friction. This hysteresis phenomenon acts as a damper.
