Case Study: Power Generation Sector - Management of Hydraulic Oil in Hydroelectric Power Plants
The EDH, which combines the dewatering filter DH and the electrostatic oil purifier, is optimal for oil management.
The hydraulic oil that operates the governor and inlet valve of a hydropower plant is not sent directly from the pump to operate the cylinder like regular machine operating oil. Instead, oil is first sent to a tank pressurized with air, maintained at a constant pressure, and receives water pressure generated by the head difference. When pressurized with air, a large amount of air dissolves in the oil according to Henry's law. When this oil returns to the atmospheric pressure oil tank, bubbles form. On the wall near the oil level in the hydraulic oil system's oil tank, there may be black carbon lines, and on the sliding parts of control valves that have malfunctioned, there may be sticky substances (oxidized degradation products) that are dark brown or brownish. This occurs because the bubbles in the pressurized oil become high-temperature due to adiabatic compression, causing the oil molecules to shear and produce carbon particles, or leading to the formation of oxidized degradation products in the oil. These oxidized degradation products cannot be removed by filters and can cause malfunctions in valves. The electrostatic oil purifier EDC removes such carbon and oxidized degradation products. basic information
【Features】 ○ The electrostatic oil purifier EDC removes carbon and oxidized contaminants. ○ The DH filter element is a deep filter with pore sizes around 50 microns, which slows down the pump flow rate, allowing for stable removal of moisture. ○ When the fibers absorb water, they expand, making the filter openings smaller, enabling the removal of contaminants smaller than 50 microns. ○ The reduced pump flow rate minimizes the generation of static electricity due to friction between the oil and the filter. ○ The filter element absorbs moisture and remains damp, preventing static electricity from building up. ○ The combination of the dewatering filter DH and the electrostatic oil purifier creates the EDH, which is optimal for oil management. ● For more details, please contact us or refer to the catalog.
