Road widening method completed simultaneously with block stacking.
This technology allows for an approximately 2-meter widening by being constructed in the same manner as conventional large block retaining walls, and it enables a lower wall height compared to traditional methods when widening roads in steep terrain. Additionally, it reduces the amount of excavation needed, making it environmentally friendly and promising cost reductions. Received the 11th National Land Technology Development Award in FY 2009 [Regional Contribution Technology Award].

basic information
- By comparing with cast-in-place reverse T-shaped retaining walls, the excavation volume can be significantly reduced. - In the case of installation on slopes, since it is a vertical wall compared to large block retaining walls, it is possible to lower the overall height of the retaining wall, leading to cost reductions. - An expansion of 50 cm per block is possible. The fourth layer of blocks can be utilized, allowing for a maximum expansion of 2.0 m. - The large block retaining wall "Urakatakun" is used in conjunction with and for technology transfer, and the concrete pouring pressure for the body and backfill is mitigated by connecting the separator to the blocks and the dedicated back formwork.
