● The microbiological tests, which previously took at least 24 hours, can now be conducted more rapidly than culture methods using the fluorescent staining filter method with BioProler. ● By using it for "microbial count monitoring on the production line" and "primary screening for shipment determination," it also contributes to strengthening risk management. ● There are two types of devices, and you can choose based on the intended use and sample. ● KB-VKH01 stains total bacteria and dead bacteria with reagents α and β, respectively, and calculates the number of viable bacteria by subtracting the number of dead bacteria from the total bacterial count. ● Therefore, both viable and dead bacteria can be measured. The excitation light used for irradiation corresponds to UV light for total bacteria stained with reagent α and Green light for dead bacteria stained with reagent β. ● KB-VKH02 generates fluorescent substances by the reaction between physiologically active substances universally present in viable bacteria and reagent ε. ● This fluorescent substance is irradiated with Blue excitation light, allowing for direct measurement of the number of viable bacteria.

BioProlar Modified Type VKH02 Live Bacteria Total Count Detection Type Standard BioProlar can measure dead bacteria as well, but the components of the dialysis fluid can cause fluorescent noise, leading to miscounts. The modified BioProlar can only measure live bacteria, but it is less affected by the components of the dialysis fluid, resulting in improved accuracy.

The BioProler does not require culturing; it fluorescently stains the microorganisms themselves and irradiates them with excitation light of a specific wavelength, causing the microorganisms to emit light. It captures the emission points as images and automatically counts them. Measurement is completed in about 10 minutes per sample, allowing for timely bacterial testing and monitoring of bacterial counts. Additionally, it has achieved easy operation through a dedicated filtration unit and specialized reagents.

Measurement Principle The BioProler fluorescently stains all bacteria and dead bacteria, captures the luminescent points, and counts the total number of bacteria and dead bacteria through image processing, from which the number of live bacteria is calculated (VKH-01 type). Live bacteria are fluorescently stained, and the number of live bacteria is counted and calculated (VKH-02 type). To recognize each luminescent point as a single bacterium, it can be measured with high precision regardless of luminescence intensity or the size of the luminescent points.

1) Filter the sample through a dedicated membrane filter with a pore size of 0.4 μm.

4) By irradiating with excitation light, count the bacteria. The stained bacteria become observable under fluorescence due to the excitation light irradiation. Based on the captured images, the number of bacteria is automatically counted.
