The OW-34-BP+OZ-20 is a tipping bucket rain gauge that features a 200 mm water inlet and has changed its body shape from a conventional cylindrical design to an hourglass-shaped cover. It includes an inner container that is housed in a tipping bucket type. The sensing part consists of a triangular bucket that tips over with the weight of 0.5 mm (standard) of precipitation, and a magnet attached to this tipping bucket instantaneously closes a reed switch each time it tips, converting the rainfall amount into a pulsed contact signal for observation.
