It is a product that stores light from indoor lighting or outdoor light and glows when the light goes out.
The Super Glow-in-the-Dark series of phosphorescent/fluorescent tape absorbs light from indoor lighting or outdoor sources and glows when the lights go out. It uses high-performance phosphorescent materials, resulting in higher brightness and a much longer afterglow time compared to conventional products, making it very effective for emergency evacuation guidance during situations like major earthquakes. Additionally, since normal indoor lighting or sunlight serves as the energy source, there is no need for electricity, and there are no maintenance costs involved. Furthermore, it has a proven outdoor weather resistance of over one year, so it can be considered maintenance-free for about five years under normal indoor conditions. Between 1958 and 1959, Dai Nippon Paint Co., Ltd. proposed the idea of separating and establishing its Ofuna factory as an independent entity, leading to the establishment of its first subsidiary. The company’s general affairs department considered and proposed names for the new company, first searching for English documents related to the new company’s main product, "fluorescence." Terms such as fluorescence, fluorescent paint, luminous body, and luminous paint were identified, and it was found that in German, luminous body is "Leuchte" and luminous paint is "Die Leuchtfarbe." Therefore, the founder and first president, Nobu Negishi, had his name "Nobu" combined with the German word "Leuchte" to create a new term "SIN+LEUCHTE," which was phonetically read as "Shinroih" and spelled as "SINLOIH."
