It is a color conversion-specific fluorescent pigment made from inorganic phosphors (ZnS·Cu), which are the base material for EL.
The Shinroihicolor FA-000 series is a color conversion dedicated fluorescent pigment designed to emit blue-green and blue light from inorganic phosphors (ZnS·Cu), which are the base materials for EL, into white or any desired color. When the three primary colors of light, R, G, and B, are mixed together, they produce white light; however, currently, no high-brightness phosphors that emit red light have been discovered. By using organic fluorescent pigments (FA-001, FA-007), it becomes possible to create white-emitting inorganic EL panels. Additionally, due to their characteristics, organic fluorescent pigments have very high purity and excellent transparency, which does not inhibit the luminous intensity of inorganic phosphors. Between 1958 and 1959, Dai Nippon Paint Co., Ltd. proposed the idea of separating and establishing its Ofuna factory as an independent entity, leading to the establishment of its first subsidiary. The company’s general affairs department considered and proposed names for the new company, first searching for English documents related to the new company’s main product, "fluorescence." Terms such as fluorescence, fluorescent paint, luminous body, and luminous paint were identified, and it was found that in German, luminous body is "Leuchte" and luminous paint is "Die Leuchtfarbe." Therefore, the founder and first president, Nobu Negishi, had his name "Nobu" combined with the German word "Leuchte" to create a new term "SIN+LEUCHTE," which was phonetically read as "Shinroih" and spelled as "SINLOIH."
