basic information
This is the "Wassily Chair," a work by the master Marcel Breuer. He is a great modern architectural master who has left behind numerous works in architectural history, including the UNESCO headquarters in Paris and the Whitney Museum. In the 1920s and 1930s, chairs made of steel pipes were at the forefront of modern design. It is said that Breuer, who was teaching at the Bauhaus furniture workshop at the time, was inspired to create a chair using steel pipes after seeing a bicycle. The elegant proportions composed of steel pipes and leather, defined by lines and planes, continue to captivate people to this day. The nickname "Wassily" was given in honor of the painter Wassily Kandinsky, who taught at the Bauhaus. Company information
Our company is the exclusive distributor for Steel Line in Japan. Steel Line is one of the oldest reproduction manufacturers in Italy, with nearly 30 years of history, and they participate in the Milan Salone every year. We originally started as a select shop for reproduction products, but due to the prolonged recession and deflation, the distribution of high-quality reproduction products in the Japanese market decreased, while the number of low-quality reproduction products increased, leading to a reduction in products that we could confidently recommend to our customers. In response to this, we began importing Steel Line products in 2009. Currently, we primarily sell Steel Line products through wholesale to design offices, architectural firms, and interior shops.
