Thermal fluid equipment related to building facilities often has many unknown characteristics and behaviors. Cooling towers are one such example, but by precisely setting the structure, flow conditions, and thermal conditions of each cell of the cooling tower, it is possible to reproduce the thermal flow state quite accurately. In this analysis, we conducted a cooling tower thermal flow analysis considering external winds to examine the impact of multiple cooling towers with different specifications on the temperature distribution of the heated air released from each cell in relation to the airflow conditions around high-rise buildings. 【Analysis Model and Conditions】 - Examined the impact of heat released from each cell of the cooling tower on the outdoor temperature distribution. - Modeled each cell of the cooling tower in detail, as well as the high-rise building where the cooling tower is installed and the surrounding buildings. - Considered the summer season for the analysis. - Set up considering the discharge and intake of each cell of the cooling tower, heat release, and external wind (wind direction SE/NW, wind speed 5 m/sec, outdoor temperature 33℃). - Total number of grids: 123×168×69 = 1,425,816. 【Analysis Results】 - With wind direction SE, the exhaust heat from the cooling tower flows towards the north road, having little impact on the high-rise building. - With wind direction NW, the exhaust heat from the cooling tower rises along the high-rise building, having a significant impact on it. - By changing the analysis conditions, it is also possible to examine other wind directions, wind speeds, and outdoor temperatures. ● For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.
